Why Spray Tans Transfer (and How to Prevent It):

The Culprit is Guide Bronzer that hasn’t been properly rinsed: The initial dark color you see immediately after your appointment is just a temporary cosmetic dye (guide bronzer) used by the technician to see where they are spraying. We offer clear solution as an option to avoid this all together.

The Solution is the Rinse: Once you take your first lukewarm shower, this cosmetic guide bronzer washes completely down the drain. The actual tan underneath is a clear reaction with your skin cells and cannot rub off.

A fully developed and properly rinsed spray tan will not permanently stain your wedding dress. However, minor rub-off can happen due to sweat and friction if you do not follow the correct rinsing instructions

Schedule the trial 2 to 4 weeks before the wedding, ideally a couple of days before your bachelorette party, bridal shower, or makeup trial, so you have a tan for those events too and can see photographs of your tanned skin in light colored clothes.

(4–5 Days Out) Facials & Lashes: Gives your skin time to calm down. Facials use heavy oils and steam that will completely block or strip a spray tan.

(3 Days Out) Waxing & Threading: Waxing removes dead skin and leaves an invisible residue. Tanning too soon after creates a patchy, uneven look.

Preparation is the single most important factor for a flawless, streak-free wedding glow. Because spray tan solution binds directly to your dead skin cells, you must create a perfectly smooth, clean, and blank canvas for the solution to absorb evenly.

8-24 Hours Before: The "Exfoliate & Hair Removal" Phase

Exfoliate Heavily: Use an exfoliating mitt or washcloth. Scrub your entire body, focusing intensely on rough areas like elbows, knees, ankles, and your collarbones. Shave Thoroughly.

Moisturize Night-Before: After this shower, apply a lightweight, basic lotion to your skin to lock in hydration overnight. This prevents your skin from being overly dry and absorbing too much tanning solution.

Day of Appointment: The "Blank Canvas" Phase

On the day of your spray tan, your goal is to have absolutely nothing sitting on top of your skin when we start spray tanning you.

The four No's within four hours of your tan: Do not apply moisturizer, deodorant, perfume, or makeup- or make sure to remove them when you get here with our rough draft wipes, gentle makeup wipes, or baby wipes. We have you covered.

Why it matters: Deodorant reacts chemically with spray tan solution, turning your armpits a bright, patchy green. Makeup and lotion will act as a barrier, leaving you with a pale face or splotchy patches.

Bring Baggy, Dark Clothing: Leave the leggings, jeans, and bras at home. Wear loose-fitting pants, an oversized dark t-shirt or long sleeve shirt, and loose shoes/sandals. Tight clothing will rub the wet tan right off your skin before it can develop.
