spray tanning is a four part process- prepping the skin, application, development, and finally maintenance.
Spray tans usually last 7-10 days but it all depends on your maintenance routine.
Your spray tan appointment (application) is 15 minutes start to finish.
a certified female spray tan technician will be spraying you, not a booth.
NAILS- PEDICURES AND MANICURE APPOINTMENTS SHOULD BE BEFORE YOUR TAN, polish change only if post tan.
WAXING MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO THE TAN. WAX WILL REMOVE THE TAN.
TANS LAST AS LONG AS THE TOP LAYER OF SKIN THAT’S TAN IS INTACT.
Exfoliating your skin is exfoliating the tan. Exfoliating is taking hot showers, sitting in a hot tub, sweating, tight clothes rubbing, swimming in chlorine or salt water, soaking hands and feet.
Orange is not an option at Shade- we use quality solutions and choose custom mixed colors that complement your skin tone.
we don't have tanning beds at shade.
after your first rinse the tan won't rub off on your clothes.
Wear dark, loose clothing to your appointment. The bronzer washes out of most fabrics, but we don't assume responsibility for any effects on clothing.
Most people wear bottoms (their own or disposable thong) and no top, or nothing at all, to get sprayed.
pre tan prep: Waxing, shaving, exfoliating, manicure, pedicure, working out for the day = BEFORE your appointment.
Two days prior to your event, one day prior to vacation are the optimal times to get sprayed. More than 3 days out and your tan will need to be brightened with a self tanner.
Yes, we tan men. We ask that they wear bottoms for their first appointment. We don’t tolerate any nonsense and if our safety is in question we call the police.
Yes, people tan weekly. Maintenance is key for keeping an even looking result over multiple sessions. We ask you do a good exfoliation the night before between sessions.
We tan all sizes and ages and genders. Everyone is welcome here and we are trained to make every tan look it’s best on every body.
You can rinse the bronzer off after 2 hours, but the tan still needs 8 hours to develop- you will not be at full color for 8 hours and shouldn't use soap, scrub your body, soak your hands in water, or sweat during that time.
